Dr Meneshka Ponnampalam

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, University of Birmingham, UK,

Dr Meneshka is originally from the UK where she trained at the University of Birmingham and worked in the NHS.

She has been working and loving the Northern Rivers for the last 4 years working between Tweed, Murwillumbah hospitals and more recently, in Byron Bay. During her time in the UK, she worked across general medical, surgical, paediatrics and emergency specialties.

More locally, she has spent a few years with the ED and O&G team here at Tweed Hospital. She enjoys all aspects of family medicine and works together with her patients to understand their health to create a personalised and high quality treatment plan.

She values preventative care and holistically managing each patient. Her special interests include women’s health, antenatal care, children’s health and mental health. In her spare time, she loves a beach walk and coffee, learning to sew and travelling to new places with her husband.
